Good question.....
I 'thought' I have heard in some circumstances that pilots have carried "training freezes" into new equipment, similar to the example presented above. I just 'skimmed' the CBA, and only found the wording below. Maybe someone with better versing on the topic can answer??

How I read it in Sect 24 of the POS '02, that 'appears' to be correct....Speaking strictly to the example mentioned above with a B756 New Hire bidding---->B737 on a 'next' bid (less than 24 months-2 yrs) w/o provisions associated with the bid releasing pilots early from presently held seat locks.

Part 7 - Initial Assignments
Newly hired pilots will receive an initial assignment. Initial assignments will be made based on the pilot's preference, in seniority order, from BES vacancies made available to that class of new hire pilots. A newly hired pilot's initial assignment will be his starting BES for the subsequent System Bid or Adjustment Bid Award. A newly hired pilot will receive an Equipment Freeze.

You are correct however there is a two year freeze in all other regards. If you do choose to upgrade, you will carry a cumulative freeze with you. In other words, whatever freeze was still due plus your new freeze will be added together.

Technically you could "upgrade" again and have all 3 freezes added together.

See my post above.

Yes you would add the freezes together resulting in one that exceeds two years.
