Opting to live in the CPO is a "personal choice". It's a decision that "they", themselves, make freely. Having such a stipulation woven within their decision may weed out the "Stivala's" of the World who sit behind the desk.

Currently, there are bigger "fish to fry"....."T-minus 4 Days"

FUPM.

Well.....I agree to a point. And then I disagree.

In section 2; under definitions, management pilot is not defined. line pilot, reserve pilot, relief pilot, and instructor pilots are defined. but, no definitions as to a management pilot or management dish-washer for that matter. It's all.....very..........very.........grey.

Your MEC reps are not even looking at this!

We are T-minus...and all. But, Seniority is something that the union should control and on paper does control. Currently there are only 4 ways to get off the CAL pilots senioirty list. Not sure about UAL.

1. Irreovacably resign
2. Irrevocably retire
3. Be terminated
4. Death

The seniority section, which is section 22 in the current POS CBA does not stipulate anything relating to management. I wonder if our negotiators are aware of this. Jay Pierce has long objected to a carve out whereby managment pilots are removed from the list, this is probably because of A: He wants to leave the door open for himself, and B, he has good friends like Zullo who he is happy for and wants to be with soon. and C: He doesn't want to but heads on something that is not nececarilly a negotiating cornerstone.

However, this came up in the age 65 debate, and it comes up now and then when guys jump ship to the other side, cross over into the dark side of the force and then work against pilot unity and pilot solidarity to the deteriment of the pilot group and the profession. Long term it is how the pfriends of pfred club is built to survive and thrive and it is how management stays plugged in into the line pilots by having an operational double agent force.

I say if you are a Chief Pilot or above, you come off the list. Ast. Chief pilots are not really full up management yet, and should have the option of coming back to the line. Those in Director level and above, VP's, Senior VP's, Managing directors, senior managing directors, etc, should come off the list, and naturally anyone over the mandatory retirement age of 65 should be off the list. Also, those over 60, who were over 60 pror to the law changing to 65 should also be off the list....Hint: those who are now over 69 should be off the friggin list.

Also off the list: test pilots, and the gummer squadron.

I want every name or employee # posted here. No excuses. Disgusting if one soul touches the open time in what was supposed to be our final push at the negotiating table.

*update* Despite what I would have predicted, most of the EWR trips on the 737/756 were hoovered up by the piggies almost immediately. IAH on the other hand - check out the open trips for 737 FOs this weekend. Wow! Houston guys making me proud (unexpectedly).

Just got a hilarious VJM voicemail. (EWR756FO) "We thought you might be interested in some travel and to help us out."

Thanks for the laugh. Back to my blue crabs and beer.

After calling hundreds of pilots over and over again the individual line schedulers must develop some kind of sense of humor about it. They know they'll eventually get a yes from some douche, but I can't imagine having to call and call over and over again to get it, just to be sent to voicemail or told to **** off.

Met at blockin today by someone passing on a JM message. I said no and she was gone in a flash to the next plane. It was hit and run; I don't even know if she was a gate agent or not.

And a sense of who to call. We were watching one as he did his job during an orientation and he said, nope, not him, as he went down the list. We asked why not and he said look at his sick bank. It was 7 hours. He knew it was a low-percentage call so he went on to the next one.
