Just looking at Flight 54 (CDG).....Very Interesting.

Currently, the FO flying that flight (54-CDG) is on pairing number E3521"C". That FO's (Initials -J.V.) original pairing, per his PBS, was E3521......Pairing E3521, per the PBS, was slotted for OSL tonight.

Looking at OSL (Flight 38), they NOW have a new FO.....That FO happens to be EWR's own B756 ACP, Capt Bill "B".

Looks like Scheduling is scrambling enough to call out the "Supervisory Bra$$" from the CPO to cover trips in the Right Seat??? If so, it's only June 10th and Summers just starting.

When you start pulling in the mgmt cash, you have to start toting the company line. Bill's not a bad guy. He's just doing what they are making him do. You live with the choices you make.

Re-reading what I wrote, I don't recall saying Bill B. was a 'bad guy'.

Merely pointing out the obvious, Scheduling's despiration...."Line Pilot Staffing", or should I say, lack there of........nothing more.

Summer hasen't even 'offcially' started yet (not until, June 20th). At this rate, The Fred Imposed Summer Staffing Algorithm may self even garner "fatigue" calls from those who are beckoned from the system's various CPO's??

Bill may not be a bad guy, but Bill could definitely be a "good guy." If he was a "good guy", then he wouldn't answer his phone.

There is a difference between being a good guy and a bad guy. Maybe he's "Neutrally neither good or bad." He needs to man up in any case.

He's the EWR 756 ACP. He has to answer his phone.

No....The "$$" meaning "Salary", and that only.

The ACP's (Bill in this case), and Base CP's are "Mgt".....making "Salary". If they are called out to 'man' a flight, from what I've been told, they are not paid "Salary + Flight Time". They 'jump', so to speak, on Fred's Marching Orders when duty comes a calling in a pinch, IE-OSL last night (assuming Bill was not giving Capt IOE, as a CK-Airman, as he was prior to his ACP position).

FWIW....I've 'heard', the CPO's have been told to plan on filling in quite a bit over the next 3-4 months.

No he really doesn't. He doesn't have to do anything negative that would hurt the profession. Volunteering for such an assignment is grounds for article 8. Bill needs to grow some stones and lead his pilots and set the right example. Captains don't fly as co-pilots and our pilots are busy on their time off taking care of their family and their personal business when not on company time. Management guys work 5 days a week already. they need time off too.

HEY BILL.......stay home and pop a cold one and relax on your time off.

From what I've been told all those ACP's that go out and act as saviors are morons, bafoons, and jerk-wads who shouldn't be on my seniority list.

Management pilots should not be on the line pilot seniority list. They are acting in a manner contrary to the improvment of this profession when they "fill in" over the next 3 to 4 months.

Completely agree. If you are mgmt, you are not on the seniority list. You represent mgmt and not the pilot group. I'm pretty sure he's not "volunteering" for the trips he does.

Makes perfect sense to me.

The concept mentioned above is nothing foreign. UPS already has already adopted such a policy/similar policy......"You" cross the great divide and choose to work for Mgt, "your" off the Pilot Seniority List/NOT to return.

Opting to live in the CPO is a "personal choice". It's a decision that "they", themselves, make freely. Having such a stipulation woven within their decision may weed out the "Stivala's" of the World who sit behind the desk.

Currently, there are bigger "fish to fry"....."T-minus 4 Days"

FUPM.
