Now that was funny. Too wordy. 99% of the BS on this forum says NOTHING and when I post facts and information you call it too wordy.
Do you want to know what is happening with our contract and our union or are you a professional forum poster amusing your self with the freedom to attack everything and everyone with your anonymity?

I'm here to amuse, but not today. I'm going to Houston to look at some real estate - I may be moving when they move the 747 to IAH. Get rid JP then we can go after the other stuff.

Regardless of if ALPA or the company created JRM, it is now a two way street.
Obviously with the frequency of it's use, it's not an irregular ops tool as created (unless we're perpetually irregular)
but a std. ops planning tool for the company full time to save money and reduce manpower. Because of that,
it can also be a tool for the pilots to stop helping the company.
Simply saying it's in the contract is what I've heard guys say to use it, that's no excuse.
They know exactly what they're doing and how it affects the rest of us.
Oh, and I'm not going to my reps. about it since like you said, they are playing the system to their selfish advantage too.
It's time each pilot, at CO and UA, take individual responsibility, think about their actions and act accordingly to help this pilot group as a whole.
ALPA lost that priority to it's own $$$$$$$ aspirations long ago.

For us LUAL pilots, it's clearcut with respect to JRM because the LUAL contract doesn't give the company a bunch of involuntary manning tools. Not so with the LCAL contract.

It still doesn't make it right because they can get you another way.
They're taking Contract 2000 money to voluntarily help mgmt. avoid needing a new contract.
JRM/LCA/any help whatsoever needs to stop. "What's the rush?" by mgmt. needs to stop.
I had a situation where the company tried to "contract" me into some flying.....
and this brings up another point, the "up to 1 am is considered previous day "out""
That was there for irregulars, well you guessed it, they schedule that way now in normal ops.
Needless to say I ended up fatigued and removed myself from the assignment.
But could they do it, letter of the contract? Yes.
Was it safe to do it? No. So did I accept it? No.
We have to start holding the guy in the mirror accountable for every action that affects safety and this pilot group as a whole.
We are a professional group, not a "pilots on individual agendas" group, let's start acting that way.
And the excuse that "hey, lots of guys do it" is just more reason to turn this around now.

Concerning involuntary JM at the CAL......The simple phrase "I'm NOT available" works very well, and it covered under the CAL POS'02. It's been true, tried, and test personally.
No excuses.

Now I understand you cannot see and refuse to accept our union's role in our demise. Suggest you listen to everything instead of taking the union's word as gospel.

Absolutely correct. I haven't been called yet. The best thing to do is corner scheduling into ONE phone number. Preferably your cell number. Give it a special ring tone. If it rings, they will leave a message. Don't be so quick to answer. If they are changing a pairing or buying your trip, they will tell you. I really don't know why it has to be so complicated. Unless you are willing to help out the company.
