I urge all to read C'02 (CO), Section 1 - Recognition and Scope, Part 7 -Successorship, Asset Sales and Mergers, paragraph G6...and the Transition and Process Agreement, Section 4 - Separation of Operations, Sub-section 4C - Aircraft, last paragraph...a "little birdie" says much of the dispute is centered around these sections...we shall see.

I disagree, the violations hurt BOTH sides of the house right now. The longer Jeff has the free run to do what he wants by exploiting and violating either contract the longer it will take to get a single contract which improves BOTH sides of the house.

Dude (or dudet) I have been at this for well over three decades and seen the Lorenzos, Icahns, Ferris', and even the self-serving MEC Chairmen who have all brought havoc to this industry. It is time to stop thinking harm to the "CAL" side and start realizing that such separate thinking will do more harm to "both" sides by Jeff and his exploitation of such thought.

If it hurts CAL pilots then it hurts UAL pilots and if it hurts UAL pilots it hurts CAL pilots!

My intent was not to offend or even suggest that the situation is ONLY CAL or ONLY UAL pilots. Maybe my wording came across wrong because I am one who believes that we (UAL and CAL pilots) need to fight collectively. There is no doubt that we are all in this together and that what harms one of us harms us all.

In regards to my original response, let me try it a little differently. Both MECs individually AND collectively need to monitor everything that goes on in the system. At the point where one side or the other or both see a violation of any agreement or language, the appropriate side whose language is being violated needs to take the lead in the fight. In this case, the CAL MEC has filed the grievance because in this instance it so happens to fall under our language. Then as a pilot group we all back up what needs to be accomplished on the respective sides of the house.

Does that make more sense in what I was trying to convey?

They (UAL) didn't KNOW Jeff then. Evidently YOU (CAL) didn't Either!! I think you guys thought there was something more to Jeff than there WAS really going on.. FACT is? If Jeff Shows ANY signs that he has a lack of resolve in taking EITHER of you /9UAL-CAL ALPA)to the HOLE?
His carrer at UNITED wouldn't last past tomorrow NIGHT!! Jeff climbed into Bed with a rattlesnake and Now YOU're getting BIT! Selling a 767-200?? Man? That's the LEAST of your worries. You haven't even challenged him good yet. the Lawsuit is a step in the right direction because at the LEAST is shows you're not JUST going to walk around in circles Like you guys did at the shareholder's meeting. That really looked like ALPA didn't have any "HUEVOS" You should have SEEN those dimwits and Lackeys from both UAl AND cal wearing Black and Navy blue suits in 88 degree weather standing at the windows asking what do they hope to achieve? They're "Newbies" !! They don't know the power of Labor! But they DO know the power of a damn well crafter LAWSUIT!!
So since they're lookin' for a Knock Down Drag Em OUT Fight?? Take them to court and Give them ONE!! And By the Way, If you're goijg to REFUSE an airplane?? Jat TELL us Why you're refusing it and go get an Icy Lemonade. A whole bunch of Rhetoric is TOTALLY unnecessary. We (SAMC) know, Dispatch knows and you know what the deal is, Just Watch your Butt while you're doing it. Or there guys will try and shoot it OFF!!
But is IS annoying to have some captain ask a lot of inane questions that he ALREADY knows the answer to to try and disguise that He's going to refuse the airplane,. Especially while my Coffee is getting Cold. We have stuff to do!! Call CHIDD, refuse it, and call it a day.. OK?? We'd all appreciate it and Thank you for your support.

And I'd appreciate it if after I refuse an airplane I don't catch a bunch of attitude from the line mech when I'm getting off the thing!! Some of you guys need a reality check.

I think I understand, but your rant is a bit incoherent. Just so you know the Captain can't just pull the plug on a flight for any reason he or she sees fit, there has to be a legit reason to turn the airplane down. If I call you it is because I am seeking that reason, so if you want to help with a reason do so and stop the ranting.

It sounds like you were around during the Summer of love in 2000 at UAL. Man! a bit bitter..

Seriously, you honestly think we CAL pilots (and employees) did not know Jeff before he took over at CAL (and now at UAL)? You are seriously mistaken. We knew exactly what we were getting and all felt a collective "UH-OH" (to put it mildly) when he was announced to replace Larry. Larry was a bean counter and certain maneuvers were/are expected with a bean counter. Jeff is a lawyer by training. With them in charge, watch out!

You continually view us as being completely clueless as to what is going on at the corporate level and as happy pilots in fantasy land. We aren't that stupid.

Remember that story about Jeff pulling up alongside Gordon Bethune on a Texas highway, waving, and then speeding off at 100 MPH? Many laughed and said, "See Jeff is a competitive guy." Yes, true and expect him to be ruthless. But you know what? The underlying tale to that story to me is he is reckless and is someone who would have no qualms about being reckless with the lives of tens of thousands of employees. As pilots we would be charged by the FAA with careless and reckless operation of an aircraft. As CEO it is laughed off with a pat on the back. Part of the good ole boys network. I know exactly what kind of "leader" Jeff is.

I guess we are "totally" unfamiliar with "Jeffery" since he's been a household staple at the 'ol CAL since 1995.
