Remember, our most youthful blood has been here since 1999. Those hired after 1999 (the 1437) should not be considered youthful either. I would liken them to pit bulls upon their return.

Notice I said "a" CAL pilot. The CAL pilots I was referring to were those who uphold Old UCAL CA's point of view. Don't go looking for smoke when there is no fire.

It is my hope that the combine majority displays the Pitt Bull determination. I would expect nothing short of that from every single one of the 1437. Time will tell via the results of any future T/A.

There are two good books out there to read.
Flying the Line I and II.
I have both copies on my "coffee table". Remarkable the similarities of "back then" and today. Real eye openers!
EVERYONE needs to read them...

Petzinger, Thomas Jr. "Hard Landing"
Amazon.com: Hard Landing: The Epic Contest for Power and Profits That Plunged the Airlines into Chaos (9780812928358): Thomas Petzinger Jr.: Books
Every pilot flying 121 and 135 in the US should own a copy.
'Nuff said.

This video is really "old news" for any long-time observer/participant in the industry.
However, there is a degree of mildly humorous irony...with the exception of American, all "legacy" carriers have now participated in a deregulation/expectation restructuring BK during the last ten years...nearly 30 years after Continental went through the first one. The CAL people have had 30 years to adapt, the UA people are still "shell-shocked." That feeling does fade over time.
