In the 90s British Airways went on this "paint the airplane tails all different" scheme - some quite exotic and definitely different.

I'm taxiing out for takeoff behind two BA 757s at Heathrow, one with the then standard BA paint job and the other the new paint scheme with some sort of exotic design on the tail - reminded me of several NYC subways cars I've seen.

Anyway, they were chatting about the new tail designs and one guy pipes up with "I would rather fly the new paint job." The other guy seem astounded and said "what do you mean by that?"

The response was "If I'm flying it I don't have to look at it."
