That would be correct for things not within personal control. I don't spend money I don't have for travel. So to say I don't foresee changing my travel habits to pay for trips I can afford is not really far fetched. Perhaps I could gain a brain tumor and decide that I will finance every bit of my travel with credit cards and loans using money I don't have. But as long as I have my faculties about me, I suspect I will be able to use restrain and only pay for what I can afford or need. For all those other trips that a time line doesn't matter then I will continue to "try" and non-rev.

It takes all of us to make the airline run...from the ramper on a cold snowy day to the pilot at FL350 to dispatch planning our flights to the executives (too many if you ask me) in their offices.
Now you know how we (retirees/early outs) feel!!! Board us after everybody else sucks doesn't it? That's how it was when you had management boarding before you guys! The travel pass should be based on seniority for everybody just like everything else.

Nope,

Won't hear a peep out of me. I'll be retired, yes retired. That means I don't have to be back at work at a certain time and I can always leave early when I need to get somewhere.

Oh yeah, I'll be retired

Exactly- I'll have plenty of time to still travel for free on my own time. In fact, I'll consider myself lucky to be able to fly for free after I no longer work.

Nope, sorry, that would be too fair. It would make too much sense. We are pilots after all. We need to sell someone out. We need to throw someone under the bus. Someone needs to get a windfall by taking from others. We need to be greedy.

This career field will continue to decline if we keep selling others out just to gain a little extra. Years of service = boarding priority. PERIOD!

The Baby Boomer mentality... I should go before you guys because I'm entitiled to this.

No one is entitled to anything anymore. Bring on the generational warfare.

And the gummer mentality is about the same. You get vacation passes as a retiree. Aren't you on a permanent vacation anyway?

This new policy is good. Sorry it doesn't suit YOU. Funny that it is only unfair when it isn't in your favor.
