UAL 787 early- mid 2012

We tend to have a few of them, and they are on just about EVERY DH'ing flight. They accumulate around 115 hours of pay each month, and to hear them talk, they are desperate and can't even afford a cup of coffee, so they'll hang out in the cockpit even during 3 hour "airport appreciation" stops. Funny thing though, is most of them aren't married, have NO kids, ore over 60, and have NO LIFE. Wonder what they spend all their money on?

You guys should do more to advance your causes and concerns rather than just accept what's offered. As Maintenence went We had lot of say in the design of the 777 which included maintenence proceedures and specifications. ALPA should do that as well to give you guys a "workable Office".. Can't hurt can it?
If it cost NOTHING, CAL won't give it to you because that would be the tail wagging the dog in their eyes!!

The Captain cannot be concerned with the minutiae of shipboard life.

I don't know... what's the likely greater danger... a fire light or an abort just below V1? That's not rhetorical, I really wonder. We've got fire bottles and you can get an airplane back on the ground within 10 minutes IMC, about half that VMC. How many fire lights are false indications? I'm not wedded to any particular course of action, I just hope what the Star Chamber comes up with is based on logic. Like the rest of us, I'll try to do what they tell me to do.
