Really?
Really? The 787 has turned out to be a DISASTER for Boeing. I'd rather see more 777's and scrap the 787's altogether. The 350 is going to be a modified 330, with significant fuel efficiency improvements. I think Airbus learned from the 380 debacle not to make an overly aggressive delivery plan. Thanks anyway - I'll take the 350 over the 787.

Announced today,(1/17/2011) the new UAL aircraft acquisition team is made up of Primarily CAL members except for the head man. I HOPE we'll be getting MORE 787's and hopefully we'll Not make the mistake of getting the Rolls Royce engines OR the A350.

My Man?
I believe you Might not have much Experience dealing with the Fallacy of an Airbuse or you'tr Overly impressed with Bells and Whistles. Becaue The A350 is a Warmed over A330. The SAME model that Came apart rounding the Face of a level 5 Thunderstorm over the south Atlantic While An American Airlines BOEING walked away unscathed. Where the French are percieved To NOT WANT to find the "Black Boxes" Where the Vertical Stab was Found in Tact.,, AGAIN!! Where the ECAM Messages before comm Loss all indicated the Air data system had Major Problems and had been shown to have Major Problems in France, Australia and in the USA. And the B787 has Problems. Hot many Tails have fallen of of a Boeing Airplane??
I'm not a big fan of airbus's products and I have EXTENSIVE experience on them. Where it Counts! Down in the Systems and Operation of the airplane. Bells and Whistes are fine But keeping them Working?? I make a LOT of money at that. And If I'M concerned for your Safety? You should be Scared SPITLESS!! Tell somebody that Doesn't KNOW! Cuz' I can go on ALL day about the Shortcomings of Airbus. To the point that I can say this! Let the Airforce Buy that POS KC-45?? And they'll have bought the Biggest Piece of Crap EVER KNOWN to MAN!!

Could it be any worse than being blown up due to fuel tanks exploding (on the 747 AND the 737's) or loss of controlled flight due to a rudder hardover (737) ?
Boeing has had its issues keeping planes in the sky as well.
Actually it is amazing that there are not more aircraft design related crashes considering the complexities of design/manufacturing/upkeep of aircraft, regardless of the manufacturer.
And saying the A350 is just a warmed over 330 is like calling the 787 a warmed over 767, or a 737-900 just a warmed over 737-200.

CALALPA was the last airline group to understand the danger posed by RJs to this entire industry. I feel that this merger may finally be our oppertunity to turn things around for the American airline pilot. I hope that both ALPA groups stand stong and aviod falling for the same tricks successfully employed over the years by management.
