Default Greater international scope for 40% pay raise

Latest proposal from management is Southwest plus a few percent pay scale in exchange for liberal international scope. If this goes to vote it could pass. Mangement just says they want to add "a couple" of new joint ventures, code shares, alliances, etc, like they said they wanted to add "a few" 70 seaters. The plan is to bring these new "agreements" within the next 2 years as the retirements start - therefore no growth as all new international flying will be outsourced. Keep the 400s a few more years and then retire them and cancel wide body orders, shrink the airline to about 8000 pilots - makes for a great balance sheet. The pay raise saves the company a ton of money in the long run. Don't know what the verbage in the contract will look like, but read carefully. This could truly be the end of the profession.

Ah...But its believable flame. You have to know that's what UA mgmt would like. And they may be willling pay for it vis a' vis' SWA wages. I find it interesting.

100% raise and 100% of ALL UAL flying done by UAL pilots, or I'm voting no. And don't get me started on work rules!

Heck of a 1st post. I don't know if it's true or not, but that will be a no vote for me.

I honestly would hope that our MEC would not even present something like that for us to vote on...

This, if true, would go into my NFW file.

There is NO WAY our MEC's would come close to presenting something like that for a vote.

I don't think so either unless they want a resounding NO vote on the TA.

Once the TA is sent to the pilots, the clock starts ticking on certain mandated SLI performance. The SLI clock starts regardless of if the TA is passed or not.
So, you would expect the MECs to send a TA that is everything to everybody (best chance of passing) rather than having a TA be rejected to validate a negotiating position.

Can you imagine? "we closed the 70 gap, all we had to do is give away the wide body flying". Me neither.......
