We have 3 configurations of the -800. Air Mic Version holds 14/120, CAL version 1 holds 20/132 and version 2 holds 16/144.

The -800's length is 129' 6" while the A-320 is 123' 3". Its just a bigger airplane and you have 3 classes of seats on yours which take up more space, First. Economy Plus and Economy.
My understanding is that eventually all Version 1 planes will be converted to Version 2 planes to make standard (for now) 16/144. A couple of years ago I was called up to take an -800 from EWR-INT. Was off that aiplane in 5 minutes then over to the -800 next to it ready to be picked up after the conversion (i.e. removal of the mid-lav and seat reconfiguration).

Who knows what will happen with the planes in the future. While I would hate to lose more seats because it can be hard enough to travel as it is, I hope an E+ section becomes standard on our planes. Hopefully with UAL's language that DH must be in at least E+ we can be more comfortable.

I am wondering if DL's recent announcement to expand their first class domestic seating by 13% system wide will encourage the new United to expand at least E+ to mainline system wide. An incentive to keep biz travelers if you ask me.

CAL just picked up 2 new -900's today at Boeing. Are all the NG's coming off the line now all standard seating config's, or getting mish-mash of seating config's??

Config this, config that....the guppy is the wrong plane to take to Hawaii.

UNICAL needs to find a 67s (or larger) to take over the Pacific. They have the cash, and the horsepower. Set the F-ing bar higher!! Give PAX a reason to choose us over Alaska or Southwest, and set a commensurate price.
Unbelievable.

The -900s all have one seating configuration: 20/153.

All -800s delivered will have standard 16/144 as the standard.
