UAL DEN Vice Chair Letter

I actually thought his post was spot on. He wasn't being defensive in the least - he was responding in kind to that clown who continues to posture about how great UAL is. As rocket said...GMAFB.

I have never made a condecending remark or bragged how great UAL is. I have only made factualfleet size comparisons. It is some of CAL guys who keep bragging about pay and fleet growth an how it will be your way or the highway. Now I love the guppy but if is going to be compared to a 757 at least put some gear doors on it.

I sincerely believe that UAL cut it ranks to be a more attractive Merger target for USAirways or United or anyone else that would merge with them. That's sad, but the writing has been on the wall for a long time and I have to question why anyone would continue to work for a company who's sole goal has been to merge for the past decade?

You keep making your condescending remarks and I'll keep flying along at my 76 hour guarantee, flying 12 days on reserve and making 30 dollars more an hour than you on my little 737. And you can keep dreaming of you in that avitar which only a tiny percentage of pilots will fly. I have 25 years left and could give a crap if I see another noodle shop again. But you can brag about your 747s that will be around a couple of more years and how great your contract was decade ago. I'll be here in Houston picketing against the 70 seat cancer your acquisition brought us. And you can smile about your relative percentage of widebodies since you gave 63% of your domestic flying to pilots not on your list and have +1400 of your guys being crapper on and forgotten. Ask them how cool your ratio is. Gmafb. Sounds like you'd rather fly the whale while wearing your hat than actually make some money. Days off and pay is my career expectation. Not how many hours I can fly in one leg.
Most importantly, let's take care of scope.
Cheers bro!

Your pay isn't as great as you think as I expect us all to get a lot more. Your CEO was supposedly better than ours except now he is playing from Tiltons play book with RJs in your domiciles. So much for that.

Personally, I came to CAL not to be a Captain in three years, I just wanted to work for United and fly 747's. Kalitta and Evergreen were my first two choices.
