Besides wishing i was hired at ual or cal (where apparently a career with 27 years as a captain is pretty standard ) i have a question:

ual had both 747s and 777s prior to bk - what where the payrates then? since those pay-rates where all within the same pilot group and were agreed to via the bargaining process vice bk, it seems that they would be a fair starting point for the joint contract pay-rates.

Artfly,

Thanks for the numbers. In my opinion that would make a very solid case for the 747 paying more than the 777 in any joint contract. Obviously you would also have to look at a lot of other factors for determining the SLI, but as far as pay-rates go - that makes a valid point, although those rates are pretty close.

On a totally unrelated subject - How did you quote me and remove all the uppercase letters in my original post?

Don't know how I quoted you the way I did. I'm really not much a forum expert.

And at CAL our 767's (all of them) pay the WB rate. How do your 767's pay versus ours?z

Pre merger pay has nothing to do with anything. If there is any banding of pay where should it be? I can see 777/747 being reasonable. 767/757 together and everything else together. In is a stretch to think a 767 and a 400 are in the same category.
