Nope, not me at all. Middle class all the way.

Lets just say, for fun, that your right. Did Jeff and friends earn their gigantic raises? I'd be willing to say that they didn't and haven't earned a thing.

If you are Chris Christensen you have absolutely no business posting here. I'll start listening to you when you join the Union and start paying dues..

The only things the union goons have is name-calling, threats, intimidation and coersion. They cannot argue based on facts. They cannot think critically for themselves. ALL they have is what their criminal union has taught them to say. Somebody on here actually talked about my supposed "self-loathing." I am not sure how they got to that conclusion. I have been discussing issues related to pilots in general.

The fact is, all they have is the "us vs. them" mentality and the sense of entitlement. If you bring up productivity, they scream about Tilton and what he makes or the fact that they don't think he earned it. Well, the BOD thinks he is worth it and they're paying him well. If he hadn't been doing the job they wanted, he would have been gone long ago. They (unions) want to be able to say who is worth it and who is not, at all levels in the company. It's like arguing with your kids. They think it's NOT FAIR if another child has more than they do. It is, in fact...VERY childish. ALPA, and their ilk, is EVERYTHING I have taught my children NOT to be ! ! (See the previous post as an example of who 757Driver thinks ought to be able to post here and what he thinks "Jeff" is worth).

I have ALWAYS been pro-pilot, because I AM a professional pilot and we do very important work for our companies and for the nation's economy. Some want to know my name or who I fly for as if that matters. They want to be able to call names and intimidate. They have NO susbstance....PERIOD. They are the bullies of the world. They know no other way. They cry when they don't get what they think they are entitled to. They call other pilots names if they don't belong to the same group or union.

This is the mentality of today's airline pilots. The good news is that it is slowly changing. MANY pilots know these things to be true but have not spoken out for fear of retribution or reprisal. The Jet Blues of the world and the pilots like SWA, UPS, et al, who organize within their own independent unions get it! They understand that helping the company is not sleeping with the enemy. It is not "self-loathing" or some other such nonsense.

Hey...I am through with my rant!

Best Regards -

JD

Let's see. When he took over at United, they had just entered bankruptcy. United had lost $2.1 billion in 2001, $2.8 billion in 2002. United had just been denied an ATSB loan, and many people thought United was about to fail.

Enter Glenn Tilton.

Tilton led United for 8 years. Those were not the best 8 years United has ever seen. There were ups and downs. Lots of tough choices were made. Things changed. But ultimately, Tilton led the company through the post 9/11 recession, Iraq War, SAR crisis in Asia, and the worst economic recession since the great depression.

In 2010, United report:
$58 million profit for 1Q 2010.
$273 million profit for 2Q 2010.
$473 million profit for 3Q 2010.

And the bottom line, he had one major goal. Industry consolidation. What was his last major step as CEO, a merger with Continental.

For all the crap he gets from the pilots, I think he did a good job. Tilton did exactly what a good CEO is suppose to do. He turned a failing company with a lot of potential around.

When you are CEO of a company and things go bad, you get all the blame. But don't forget when things do well, to give credit where credit is due. Politicians often suffer the same issue (only given blame and never praise).

When you take a step back, and look at it with an open mind, Tilton took over in 2002 when United was in shambles. 8 years later, it is now the largest (and soon to be most successful airline) on the face of the planet. I think the guy did EARN it.

As you apparently think you have this all worked out, please explain how 'senior' pilots dropping in their monthly schedules leaves 'junior' pilots holding the bag??? You DO know who has the keys to the crew scheduling system right?

Sadly enough, I have flown with 767 captain eunuchs who share JDs self loathing personality. It really wouldn't surprise me if he were a UA guy. I actually enjoy flying with them so I can show them how to UNDERSTAND and ENFORCE our CBA. Oh, how ****ed they get when I won't waive!! I've stood in the jetway while these marshmellows run an engine with a mechanic in my seat...and pax on board. I've flown with my fair share of scabs too. IME, the JD types are no different. Their 'weak dickedness' is just not as obvious until you get to know them.

That's good, Axl...YOU SHOW THOSE BA$TARDS!!! You've got 'em right where you want 'em, no doubt!! atta boy!! I haven't heard such tough talk since the 9th grade when Joey Hicks swore he was going to kick my a$$ for taking his seat in the lunch room!! Yes sir, you are one tough dude!

Holy Crap!!! If your post wasn't so idiotic it would be funny. First off, Tilton was instrumental in PUTTING UAL into BK. He pooched the ATSB loan application (I don't think he wanted it anyway). Make no mistake, he was brought here because UAL was heading into BK. The truly ridiculous thing you kept repeating in the same sentence as Tilton is the word 'led'. What a joke. Tilton didn't lead anything or anybody. He is the antithesis of a leader. He is the consumate manager, and UAL succeeded in SPITE of Tilton. The real crime is that he was unable to do MORE with all of the advantages he had. He is a liar that has no morals or integrity. So he did exactly what he was supposed to do...that doesn't make him a good CEO. A real CEO and LEADER could have do SO much better. I have nothing but disgust for Tilton.

You bet. By my actions I WILL continue to 'show' them how to act like a real professional airline pilot. It's realistic talk -- it only sounds tough to you.
