Hmmm, reading today's update it would appear that oncea757cap is full of something that can't be written on the forum. Appears he is being played by someone or he is just a shill that is creating B.S. reports.
At any rate it is obvious that oncea hasn't a clue about what he put in print. Feel bad for those of you that bit on his bogus information. No such thing as a free lunch. No matter how much you want to believe what he wrote, it just isn't factual.

In a startling turn of events, management is of the opinion that to reneg on the verbal agreement on the extent of scope that was "verbally" agreed to months ago, would not be considered a breach if this were offset by an increase in pay [(an increase of 10% above what was previously agreed to (30%)]. It is very difficult to say how this will play out from here. Concurrent with this development, is the intent to acquire another airline as soon as UCAL is complete - AirTran: to supplement lost narrow body feed, move towards an all Boeing fleet and to compete directly with DAL.

Just to make sure I understand you clearly:
1.) JCBA in October
2.) 40% raise in lieu of scope protections
3.) Merger with AirTran to follow.
Did I miss anything?

Basically. Remember, the JCBA is monetized and is a number. That number divided by 12,000 (UCAL total) guys is a 30% raise, or that number divided by 8,000 guys allows for 40+% raises. The + going to the company - a win for the company and for those that remain on the property. Plus keeps UCAL small for future acquisitions. Things have changed since all parties have approved the merger. JCBA in October? Not sure now. Depends if the MECs accept this and if they do, how will they spin it to the pilot group? Further acquisition and consolidation is for sure. AirTran is most likely.

whatever
Listen, I hate to give credence to someone who seems to be so far gone from reality... but let's say for argument sake, that the things you have said are true.
Listen to this, Oncea57cap, and anyone else out there who may be related to this negotiation in any way:
Management (you?) may not realize this, but the fork in the road where they choose "worse than USAIR implosion" vs. "blow Delta out of the water" is SECTION 1. Period.
Listen to this, Oncea57cap, and anyone else out there who may be related to this negotiation in any way:
- THERE IS NO "RENEGE" ON SCOPE!
- THERE IS NO CONTRACT WITHOUT SCOPE!
- UAL PILOTS WERE "SOLD" SCOPE RELAXATION BEFORE AND MANAGEMENT ABUSED IT! WE WILL NOT PAY FOR IT AGAIN!
- THIS IS A NO CONCESSION CONTRACT! OUR CURRENT SCOPE IS A CONCESSION TO CAL PILOTS, SO THEREFORE SCOPE WILL IMPROVE!
- THERE WILL BE NO UNITED AIRLINES LEFT WITHOUT THE BEST SECTION 1 EVER!
Management (you?) may not realize this, but the fork in the road where they choose "worse than USAIR implosion" vs. "blow Delta out of the water" is SECTION 1. Period.
