So essentially our optimum bid group is:

Set Min days before JCBA
Set SLI AVOID WINDFALLS
Avoid Putzes Nov 1 - Nov 30
Avoid Scope Relief Nov 1 - Nov 30

Award Retro Pay
Award B-Fund Increase
Award Career Expectation (H)
Award FUPM (H++)
Since I am an FO the only thing I would add to that bid group is:

Avoid SCABS Nov 1 - Nov 30

"Putzes" encompasses far more pilots than "scabs" and may not be specific enough for our wonderful PBS system to understand.

It is very difficult to say how this will play out from here. Concurrent with this development, is the intent to acquire another airline as soon as UCAL is complete - AirTran: to supplement lost narrow body feed, move towards an all Boeing fleet and to compete directly with DAL.
Guessing AirTran is now off the table or expecting hostile bid from UALCAL??

Good thing we were ordered to divest those slots in EWR to keep it 'fair'. Wonder if SWA/AT will have to give some up in BWI...

Good question...we'll see how quick the DOT is to allow this and if there will be any divestitures to "allow more competition".

Tit-for-tat seems fair to me

My price tag just went up again, since this will delay the JCBA a bit I'd imagine..
I gotta say... all of a sudden our CAL/UAL combo seems a lot more appealing than the other remaining options. I would not want to be adrift at American, Jet Blue, or USAir right now.
I bet new LUV crushes the cancer that is Republic... I wonder if every Frontier pilot is thinking a staple wouldn't have been so bad last year.
Bye bye ALPA at AirTran. Hope SWAPA wages carry over, at least they seem to be able to get a good contract for their members.
Too many ramblings. Where's my coffee? P.S. The port-of-spain redeye trips #*@$ .

Some D-gates at BWI should open up once SWA moves AAI to their terminal/gates. That just happens to be where the UAL/CAL gates are. Sounds like an opportunity if the new management wants to grow the airline at the IAD/DCA/BWI hub.
