It would seem that a few of our FA's are getting out of control. I hope I'm wrong.

Some are indeed looking for confrontation. We’ve all seen the type. Rude, uncaring, and doing the bare minimum in the cabin. Sour attitude, never smiling, and looking for a reason to flex on a customer. They need to be canned asap. Another PR nightmare, for sure.

they’re all over the industry. I cringe every time i hear the captain brief the lead FA that he has their back in any situation and will have a pax booted on their say. I kinda just wanna look at home and say, “really?!” It seems the FA’s are equally guilty in some of the pax issues. Not everybody is made for that job and you get what you pay for i guess.

agreed. I remember during Covid one of the FA’s pulled a massive power trip on a doctor who “wasn’t wearing his mask the right way.” He was in 1B, had some status (I forget), and was literally talking to us saying, “captain, please, I’m a surgeon, I know how to wear a mask properly, I’m not trying to be an issue here.”

The FA literally said “he needs to be off this flight or I’m not going, he won’t listen to my instructions.”

CA kicked him off instead of telling the FA to take a hike for power tripping. Was really annoying to watch.

I had one of those on the flight during the mask mandate. The other F/A's told me she was on a tear about "proper mask usage". She came up front and told me that she had a passenger that she needed removed, and several others that she had threatened for noncompliance with the mandate. She didn't think that they were getting the mask back up as fast as she thought they should. After listinening to what she had to say, I advised her that if anyone was going to be removed, it would be her. She wasn't a problem after that. I can't imagine blindly kicking a passenger off without getting all of the info first.

At AA, the company gave the flight attendants aboslute power over employees (non-revving and DH'ing), to include regional affiliates. If a particular FA thought you weren't in compliance, they could just report you via their tablet and the next thing you know, your travel privileges are suspended and your job is being threatend. Oh, and you had no recourse through the union or CPO.

I have been a Captain for a long time, FA's cannot have anyone removed, that is the Captain's responsibility. Where was he or she in this? I just had a FA get sideways with a passenger, the FA was all kinds of wrong, and if anyone was going off in handcuffs it would have been him.

^^^This^^^ when I was on the 777 many years ago I would hear captains say “if you have problems with pax and want them removed tell me asap their seat #”… delegating this from the get go is a very bad idea.
