New Vacancy Bid Out

Biggest news is 30 LAX 787 CA slots open due to LAX-HKG going double daily, LAX-PVG starting, and LAX-MEL going daily.

40 SFO 737 CA slots as SFO is poised for significant growth over the next year. United has taken over half of the D concourse and will get additional gates in the F concourse once construction is complete.

Is the consensus still overstaffed on WB FO side? We've had more than one vacancy now with double digit WB CA slots and still not for FO's

Yes, plenty of WB FO for summer and more than enough for winter. Next WB FO bids would be to staff next summer. Plus, the benefit of not having WB FO bids is: if you want a raise, bid NB CA.

No need to read any tea leaves. The vacancy announcement specifically says that we are overstaffed for WBFO (particularly 787).

I imagine it’ll be two vacancies of this size before year end so about 600 spots, that’s kind of around the number we projected to hire minus the freeze for year total
