I’m one of those. You’re welcome 😉

yea you don’t have to check your schedule any more but that doesn’t matter. The 18 hours start when it is assigned. Only protection is nothing before 10am. So if you don’t check CCS day prior you can get a nice call at midnight for a 10:01 show…
I know, right! That’s 3 whole button pushes on my phone, and a solid 10 seconds out of my day off!!!

I was also disappointed to learn that the company gets to choose between VEC and VSC lines- it’s not both.
Given that it is a specific line in the contract that the company "may not" do this, it implies that it is something the union wanted versus the company. Otherwise, it would have been at the company's discrection without that line. I'm not really sure on the surface why this is advantageous for the pilot group but there must have been some reasoning.

If youre in a BES with limited flying and predominately long haul or FRMS (IAH and SFO 787 come to mind), I can see long call reserve going very senior. You may never work again.

well it’s 18 hours for a trip, 16 for SC unless it’s assigned during that window of 12-2 in which case it can be 14 for either 🙃

but 16 for short call still gives you the 2.5 hour window to show, so it’s like 18.5 for SC

Agree long call will be senior, especially on the 787. Not good for me but I'm not complaining life is GREAT!

My previous company HA, is probably looking at bankruptcy if AS doesn't save them and their flight division is having flight crews fly like Asian carriers, FOs pushback, taxi and become (FO Captains) LOL ... LIFE IS GOOD here...

In Unity...

And besides, for each senior pilot that bids a LCL (Long Call) line, that's one more line donated to those junior.
