United put us at the Hilton out there when the NFL draft was going on. I’m probably in the minority because I’m not one to throw on the New Balances and head to the closest Irish Pub, but I would rather stay there than hang out with all the tourists on the strip. I rented a SUP and cruised around the lake, went for a run up the trail on the west side, and then got some pretty good Mexican food.

See what the lack of mentoring has gotten us? Better workout shoes, a more sophisticated palette and zero cell phone holsters.

both are decent/ good locations but the hotels themselves tend to attract a cheaper crowd. As a major/legacy pilot group we should be staying at full service Marriott/Westin/Hilton/Hyatts.. not Courtyards/Inns/Garden Inns/etc.

Don’t even get me started on the EWR hotels. Every airline stays at the Marriott EWR for the short.. . we are at a Courtyard 10mins away right by an interstate. Even my last regional wasn’t that bad.

Long EWR? Everyone goes to manhattan. AA goes to downtown Newark/Elizabeth City. Pathetic.

You guys should see our new Vegas long layover hotel. Anyone know where Henderson NV is? 40mins east of the strip at some retirement community. Yes, our lame and meager hotel language does state we need to be downtown for anything longer than 17hrs. But downtown where, exactly? AA chose downtown Henderson, NV. Unreal

But apparently the membership didn’t care about hotel language in this last contract. So here we are.

The Henderson lake hotel is a Five star resort.
Much nicer than the smoke filled and cum soaked mattress rooms on the strip.

I slam click more and more. A long day and multiple legs and I like to do my own thing. Walk around and explore and wander to a good spot for food. There was a wave of half wingers that were looking for $100 dinners every night that just really rubbed the wrong way. We also have a lot of people that are afraid to leave the hotel or go somewhere not frequented by pilots.

Anyone been to the Relaise Entrecôte on Lexington? If so have you also been to any of them in Paris and how does it compare? I just learned they have an outpost in NYC and I may have to make a point to hit it next long NYC.

They are very good… crowded due to trip advisor ratings

That tracks. Loved going to Relaise when I did CDG when we had it in SFO on the 767. Too bad the Malle mustard shop shut down in NYC. I'm craving their black truffle Chablis Dijon. Eventually I'll get back to the international flying.

That’s why I started bidding Montana layovers. You can get 10 beers and a steer for a couple of Hamiltons
