Default Enrolled Friend MyUADiscount Purchase Period

I'm not sure if people have experience with this or can answer this question, but if an employee has an enrolled friend for a period (ie. January 2024-June 2024), and they want to purchase flight tickets via MyUADiscount, are they limited to the dates of the trips they want to purchase? For example, if that enrolled friend wants to purchase a ticket from EWR to SFO in October of 2024, which is outside their enrolled friend benefits window, will they have any issues at the time of travel? I am asking on behalf of myself; I'm currently an enrolled friend under my father who is a retired employee of United, and I successfully had bought a ticket outside my 6 month window with a seat and reservation. I didn't see anything in the Enrolled Friend policy or anything on the United portal. Just want to make sure I'm not doing anything outside of what's allowed.

I haven’t seen a written policy that says you can’t do what you described. I had a personal experience exactly like you described and the enrolled friend didn’t have issues traveling about a month after no longer being on the benefits.

At my former regional (part of UAX), it was common practice to buy a discounted ticket for a commute home after you quit. Non-rev got turned off at 11:59 the day you quit, but the ticket was still good the day after you quit and would get you home.
