Huh? I’m not the one telling people to contact the JS chair for which like you said won’t receive any info and then complaining about the “flexing” online. Without info the the flexing will unfortunately continue.

Had a great experience today—jumpseated along with a nonrev (wife) on UAL. Had exit rows waiting, a very welcoming crew, and were treated like gold. Meals and drinks on the house. Couldn’t have been treated any better. Great way to start our vacation! Thank you!

Yes, we had a laugh on the flight deck after I checked in and the captain said, “oh no!” I gave a peace offering of bars of chocolate—all good.

"I decided I was in charge of the jumpseat. The Captain disagreed. So I walked off."

Chief Pilot - "Seriously!?!"

"Yes, seriously. If he disagrees with my leadership style I leave."

I asked if they were familiar with flaps and then left quickly.

I'll second this. Always been treated exceptionally well when I non rev on UAL. Get treated better than my own airline.

It would never get to that. "I'm not comfortable with this person sitting behind me". Done. Only an idiot CA would push that, and no FODO would ever push it... get the OAL off the plane and get out on time. Done.

Union might give you a call due to reciprocity, but as long as you can articulate your reasons, non-issue.

Obviously doesn't apply to Feds or LCA.

If you witness a safety issue as an ACM, you are encouraged to fill out an ASAP and no you don't need permission from the CA to do so.

And anyone claiming they are denying the JS because they are a distraction is gaslighting. They are doing it purely as punishment.
No. I said she can ride in the back. Basically I wouldn't trust her judgement or motives in any respect.

Go read the ASAP guidance, it always tells you that both (all) crew must submit reports to ensure they're both covered.

Technically you *could* submit a unilateral asap, but that's very bad form.

Absolutely no reason under any circumstances to ever submit any kind of report to anybody without notifying those crew affected. Assuming they're not intentionally committing a federal felony.

You gonna have to give a supporting reason
why you feel uncomfortable….

ASAP is completely nonretributional as long as it doesn't involve willful acts of negligence or illegal activities. It's not being a dick to file an ASAP. It likely won't even get pulled for review. Why is everyone so afraid of ASAP?
Only the person that submits the report gets the protection of ASAP. If that ASAP leads to any corrective action, you're covered in that it doesn't follow you, but could lead to it following your co-worker.

I'm not afraid of ASAP, but I will make sure I will let my co-worker know if I intend to file one to give them that chance to file one as well. Up to them from that point if they want to. We are all adults.

You're right that ERC's frown upon copy and paste reports. They want the event from each others perspectives.
