It's pretty telling the SWA pilots on thier thread are much more gracious about this incident and not denying a JS than UAL pilots are.

If this person learned their lesson, they are welcomed on my jumpseat. I am sure they didn’t mean for this to blow up the way things have… Also, there wasn’t a need to dox this person online….

I'm guessing as usual it's a handful of angry internet warriors!

Agreed! Why is doxxing so prevalent these days? Do people do that simply because we disagree on the internet, and mob justice must prevail? Give me a break. You would think Pilots of all people would "evaluate" before acting. Has anyone ever run the wrong checklist in the sim because you didn't get all the facts before acting? The jumpseat is the captains discretion, so do what your conscience allows, but seriously doxing and threats are way out of bounds. I despise cancel culture and what it's done to all of us.

You send a weak email with more questions than answers and this is what happens. What exactly was said online that is inaccurate, and why haven’t they clarified she DID NOT personally contact the feds?
If you’re unhappy with the union’s handling of this you can bring a resolution at the next meeting. You just need to get hired here first so DM me for a LOR.

TBNT on the LOR offer. I’d prefer not to be furloughed for years, which is inevitable for any recent UA NH. I know, I’m the big bad grinch for not believing the market only goes up. Your union has such a rich history of preventing thousands of furloughs when there’s even a whisper of economic downturn right? Nobody is surprised they’ve handled this “situation” so poorly.

If she’s innocent your union is doing one of their members a massive disservice by remaining silent and not confirming their innocence. Every day they remain silent on how the feds were informed, she looks more guilty.

I wonder how many of the "not on my jumpseat" crowd on these threads are even captains and have a say in the matter.

Deny someone a JS over something they didn't do because you have an faulty ego and the emotional intelligence of a toddler would be the FASTEST way for me to drop a line on the FAA hotline. JS wars and all.

This isn't 1960. FO's have veto authority on many aspects of the operation. This is one of those.

Captain AUTH-OR-ITAY doesn't extend to ordering the FO to buckle up and shut up. He/she can always grab his bags and walk off.
