Sure but what exactly would be the FAA’s motivation to out someone for using their anonymous tip line?

Disagree. SW hired plenty, PLENTY from the Lukewaffe back in the day. Had the JS'er been Lukewaffe they would have called another person at SW from the Lukewaffe about it

They would have to know with whom they're speaking with before launching a investigation into the airspeed/spoiler/flap usage of an airline crew, because I'm Joe from the street isnt going to cut it.
