Somebody make this make sense to me!
No, there are steps involved before reporting an issue to the company or the feds.

1. Try to resolve the issue on the spot between adults.
2. If that fails, bring in professional standards to discuss, mentor, and hopefully resolve the issue.
3. If the violation is serious enough or if the guilty party still refuses to comply with a reg or company SOP, pro-standards will advise that it is beyond their scope of involvement and advise that an FSAP is filled out.

You don't run straight to the teacher and tattle. I guess I'm just showing my age. If this really happened, I'm appalled.

This is how it’s done. It’s not to deter anyone from filing appropriate reports for legitimate reasons, but there’s channels to go through before going to the feds.

If our union is correct that this is a false narrative & she’s getting doxed for it, she’ll deserve it, too. Personally I’m fine with the company finding & disciplining the keyboard warriors sufficiently to avoid legal culpability & leave that $$$ in our profit sharing checks & I’ll buy my own beer.

email out from the Union… as suspected, sounds like this is perhaps a misinformed situation that got blown out of proportion.

I'll pass on that bet. Anyone who spread her employee info around and/or tried to directly smear her may find themselves on the receiving end of a subpeona. There are mechanisms for discreetly handling stuff like this without involving lawyers. Probably too late now.

Please keep the memes rolling though!

Doesn’t apply to defamation.
Speech inciting illegal actions or soliciting others to commit crimes aren’t protected under the First Amendment, either.
Look it up.
