This has nothing to do with anything other than having absolutely no judgment, SA, or leadership. If this is real (it sure appears real) it isn’t simply loss of their jobs, it’s likely criminal, and they may well be charged with gross negligence, recklessness, etc.

This will hit the news cycle shortly and just as we are pulling out of a terrible March of publicity it will eclipse all of that. These A-holes have really done all of us a massive disservice.

I'm sure it'll make the rounds on those incel blogs that sensationalize every other piece of minuteae in this industry, but I doubt the flying public really cares too much what happens on a baseball charter.

Whoa. I used to do a lot of charters. Often times the head coach would sit in the right seat for a bit during cruise. However no photos were allowed. An yes, flight attendants too.

Tempest in a tea pot.

Part of the Commercial or ATP syllabus should be mandatory to sit through the 11 or so seasons of Air Crash Investigations from the Smithsonian TV Network so that as a profession, if we are going to make mistakes, they aren't at least the same mistakes as the past.

And who, exactly, isn’t demanding that the crew be held accountable? Anyone who thinks this crew isn’t going to pay dearly for this is delusional.

What's more problematic to me is the burning desire to worship at the fake altar of social media while trying to cloak one’s own narcissism in the guise of self righteousness.
Narcissism? Self-righteousness? You seem like the type that's mad at the school when your kid gets in trouble. Actually, disregard, I'll bet you don't have kids.

As to the altar of social media, UA has chosen to worship there. Live by sword, die by the sword. You don't get to pick and choose.

If that video is not an AI deepfake (which I already know it isn't), there is just literally nothing to defend. Mindsets like yours are the reason we have people on trial for five years when they're on video committing an execution style murder during a robbery. Sometimes things are exactly what they appear to be. I guess you don't believe your lying eyes.

The best thing a United pilot could do for the company is to say "If this is as it appears it is inexcusable and should not be tolerated by any of us. We are better than this and it is not representative of the way 99.99% of us do our jobs".

Simple.

We keep hiring social media influencers that show how to start the airplane and how to get into secured areas. Not to mention dancing in their underwear with a captain hat on followed by posts of shaking ceo hand. "Paid sponsorship" crazy

I could see sitting at the table....and clearly seeing that I'm going down in flames... And leaving them with a last salvo, "Well it was just unclear to me which type of social media you guys want...I see all these young kids making videos and uploading clearly with your tacit approval. I just wanted to do my part."

ok slight difference between execution style murder and letting a baseball coach into the flight deck on a charter flight.. Still wrong, but I think we can easily see how one could be handled internally vs the other one. Maybe the captain needs to take a permanent right seat assignment from now on, and the FO needs an A$$ chewing about speaking up. But if you can’t see the difference between the two scenarios, maybe YOU need the psych eval.
