Let's try it another way in case I wasn't clear... the CA did not take the video. Not making any commentary on the event, just clarifying that point.

The people who actually know the facts in this case aren't posting here. To say that it is a "fact" that the captain didn't make the video is not 100% accurate. It could have been the captains voice, could have been a FA. We really don't know, nor does it really matter. This issue is betweeen them and the company.

Believe as you wish. It is truly sad to come here and watch as our fellow ALPA pilots tear their brothers and sisters apart. Whether it's this crew, the WN jumpseater, or other event crews, posters are all to happy to dance on their graves or spit in their face. Our jumpseater may never return after the treatment they received, the keyboard warriors chose to be judge, jury and executioner based on RUMORS that pilots too happily shared. WE did that to them, and WE should be ashamed! But hey, that's just one pilot right... ask how many of our pilots now get asked "was that you?" when trying to jumpseat. I know of seven personally. WE suck, and WE can do better, so you'll have to pardon me for chiming in to share one fact that I DO know.

ALPA Code of Ethics

An Air Line Pilot will conduct their affairs with other members of the profession and with ALPA in such a manner as to bring credit to the profession and ALPA as well as to themselves.

• They will not falsely or maliciously injure the professional reputation, prospects or job security of another pilot...

Lots of parts in the Code that apply to this event, but this one that applies to each of us as well. Honor the Code! Rant over.

If the captain of that flight had known about that code, this whole thing wouldn't have happened. You're right, we DO suck.

The point of my post is that those who actually know what happened aren't going to be posting here and that speculation and pointing fingers is wrong. We don't have all of the facts, we don't necessarily need to know all of the facts, and this isn't the place to determine guilt or innocence. That's between them and the company.

Nope. The current society we live in has a MASSIVE lack of personal accountability. What happened to this crew sucks…for THEM. Who do they have to blame? Themselves. This sort of reckless behavior threatens MY livelihood, and I have every right to get upset about it. Were they protecting the rest of us when they made this choice? Nope….
