I have yet to see that on a UA flight. It’s a violation of the FOM. Be smarter.

Ah, no as a matter fact I and just about every one I’ve ever flown with doesn’t think that way and flies to the letter of the law to the best of their ability. If any FOM or SOP is violated I can guarantee you it’s not because of willful negligence as you allege.

That's like saying that the public has no right to know what fine or prison sentence someone recieves when convicted of a crime. Thats 3rd world crap that has no place here.
because;

1. it’s someone’s career and livelihood we’re talking about (even if they did something dumb) and no reason to flaunt what happened to them on a public forum.

2. You don’t have a right to know jack **** when it comes to something between an employee and their employer.

I’ve had many a trip where an f/a comes up and unless the copilot puts his seat fwd just starts to help themselves to the seat. I haven’t figured out the best way to say no without it becoming awkward but I do say no. Any suggestions on a more diplomatic way to handle that?

That's easy. Simply tell them that they can't sit there.

Maybe 10% of FAs have sat in the seat in my career, but all of them have sat sideways. Personally, I don't see how that is a problem as they aren't any where near the controls.

We had a FA put some flaps down getting into or out of the FO seat on the CRJ, now they're to use the Jumpseat.

Include it in your briefing. Problem solved.
