Don’t worry, you still say plenty of stupid sh1t.

I’d have to agree with Whisper. That’s not to say that ALL experienced pilots are bad. From experience, I’m more watchful with a senior pilot in the left seat than a junior one.

Senior pilots have a tendency to consistently display complacency (from my experience, of course). That said, give me a senior guy all day every day when it comes to abnormal or hairy situations.

Aren't we one of the only(if not THE only) airlines that actually impose a 1 year upgrade requirement? It’s a self-imposed limitation. The FAA has nothing other than the 1000 qualifying hours and ATP. Delta had 4 month upgrades not too long ago. Why is everyone so hung up on this?

delta has had their own issues! Their 737-wonder captain blew all the tires on a dry runway in SLC. Who was the captain that took off and flew their 767 directly into a hail shaft while everyone else was waiting on the ground?

Airline requirements aside, it's only a reality at United and Delta and experience-related issues seem to have become a thing.

WGAF? Well when statistics show experience matters, time in type matters, has the crew flown together before, etc, etc. having the answers to those questions will be looked at by the investigators.

This will have you being arrested soon. To speak against DEI is not an intelligent move. Heck, the investigators are probably DEI themselves.

Can confirm, people who are blaming this on DEI don't seem very intelligent.

all the worst CAs I have EVER flown with were very senior and very experienced.

also all the BEST CAs I have ever flown with were very senior and very experienced.

I have learned how to be a CA and learned how to NOT be a CA from the most senior pilots at our airline.

when your good you are good no matter how experienced or senior you are and when you suck you suck no matter how senior or experienced you are. Nothing is going to change that.

The Delta example is a very bad example to use as there was an LCA in the other seat that allowed him to do that……or even influenced him to takeoff….

LCA aren't perfect either...and could be in the position for reasons other than experience. Probably one who wanted to be a CKA vs one who was nominated/recruted to be one. BIG difference.
