Well, the 737 IS a new aircraft type. It'll take a while (like 40-50 years) to shake out peculiarities such as ground handling issues.

At least they were able to get an FTD and a cabin trainer out of it if I remember correctly. So not a total loss.

They don't bend the wings and then fly them. The wings FLEX upwards in fligiht. They don't have a crease put in the wing structure to make them have a permanent bend in them. That doesn't just 'buff out'. It's a big deal. If it's sitting 'bent' unloaded on the ground it's damaged. That's not normal.

Beats me what the final decision will be.

This plane has probably suffered more G loading on landings than this thing suffered in this runoff. It would be highly surprising if the spar is damaged.
