The application process is designed to screen and evaluate candidates on how well they follow directions, and the directions are very clear. Active duty only, Guard and Reservists apply through the normal process. I don't think it's smart to "press to test" and try to apply via a program you clearly aren't eligible for and be perceived as trying to pull a fast one on the company or wasting the hiring team's time, or getting all the way through to an interview where it's caught driving a TBNT or a CJO is rescinded. It's the application policy at United, the military discount policy at Chili's, and most places in between. That's just where society typically draws the line, regardless of the type of orders you are on. It sucks, but despite those disciminatory policies take solace in the vast QOL difference between AD and the guard/reserve.

AirDrop? PNAF? SOLL? You’re probably not as run of the mill as you think!

I got accepted for the leadership assessement. Nov 1 availability date, around 1350 TT, ATM written complete. 1050 PIC in the F/A-18, MEI/CFI/CFII. I did annotate in the achievement section that I had my ATP check ride scheduled for the end of this month. That may have helped. Everyone I know thats been selected has similar experience to me, but they all have RATP already. Hope this helps.

I imagine they will wait a bit to send out interview invites since we are still far out from being available. My buddy whos in United said he was contacted within a week for an interview after he took the leadership assessment, dont think that will be the case for us on the UMPP.

What was your timeline from submitting app to getting the leadership assessment? I'm F/A-18 as well with similar background but a little more time and unrestricted ATP. Haven't heard anything.

They did a hiring webinar on Friday where they said they would start UMPP interviews towards the end of Feb, but didn't say much more about the specifics.

I submitted the app mid december and didnt have any services review it. I know another guy who just shot it out there as well that got picked up. I did keep udating it every few days to add things. United really likes to see volunteer work / supporting aviation programs. I also had 2 LOR. A buddy on the inside said they like to see 4 LOR if you get it.

I know a few who havent been picked up yet and we are thinking its because thier availability date is before September. I read in a different forum that UMPP will start first classes in September. Not sure if that holds anything against dudes who are ready earlier. Just my 2 cents and own personal research.

I had my availability set to early August, and they sent me an automated email a couple days ago saying that I needed to either switch to the regular app, or update my UMPP availability date to sometime after Sept 15th. So I think you're right that the earlier availability wasn't conducive for UMPP

I received the Hogan 2 weeks ago, but no interview email yet. Also, my application still shows under review.
