Odds are they're currently gainfully employed. There's stress I get and then there's bashing the company when you haven't even stepped foot on property yet. Not a good look

Thanks!
Peruse the forum and you'll find a treasure trove of info. Indoc is easy, with an equally easy open EFB test at the end. Suits first and last day. First year depends on your attitude and where you live and what the economy is like. You pick your base and aircraft after lunch on day 1. If you don't love it then read up on the seat lock rules and how vacancy bids work. You are eligible to bid on vacancies as soon as you get login credentials and it's not uncommon to have folks get EWR on day 1, bid for anywhere else on day 2 or 3 and have the base change activate before they're done with training.

Don't really see what you're seeing, but perception is reality.

I was told by somebody close to the UMPP that initerviews/applications are being prioritized for those 6-9 months out and that there will be a big push come this January.

To add to the data: I submitted my UMPP applicaiotn on 8/9. It was locked and under review when I went to update hours the following week. I have my availability listed as 1 Jan 2026.

Can a fulltime reservist that's on a long term MPA orders apply to UMPP?

Doesn’t sound like it.

  • Currently serving on active duty and full-time active-duty members of the Armed Forces of the United States, including active reserves currently serving as TAR, FTS, or AGR.

Reach out to them via the e-mail in the gudie. They'll answer your question a lot more accurately than any of us will.

The eligibility criteria in the UMPP guide currently says: "For purposes of this Program Guide, “Active Duty” refers to full-time service members, including those who are on full-time active-duty reserve status such as Navy Training and Admin Reserve (TAR), Marine Full Time Support (FTS), and Army and Air Force Active Guard Reserve (AGR)."

I think their intent is to open this up to as many folks as possible. Since a TR or IMA on long-term MPA is currently a "full-time service member," my guess is that you'd probably get a thumbs up... but agreed that it couldn't hurt to reach out and ask them directly.

Absolutely ask, but the program guide pretty clearly eliminates TRs, even activated ones. It's all on the website.
