As a practicing Christian, I like to hear about God from my priest, corporate affairs from my employer, & labor rights from my union. Any of the three that veer into a different lane lose my attention pretty quickly.

M, S, and I want to take a moment to wish you a blessed Easter! We are thankful for being in such an awesome council and appreciate the help, encouragement and patience you have provided us throughout the past year. You are what makes Houston special whatever you celebrate!

We are also thankful to be in a country where we have the option to celebrate the resurrection of the Son of God whose sacrifice makes the difference between life and death for eternity. As we pause to observe the most celebrated and sacred holiday in the Western world today, know that our thoughts and prayers are with every one of you as we go through life's highs and lows together.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us for help or to let us know how we can better serve you. We are honored to be your representatives whatever your faith and may God bless ya'll richly.
I always assumed that was Super Bowl Sunday tbh.

As a non-practicing Christian, I agree wholeheartedly with that statement. Everyone's religion is personal. I don't care what faith you practice or don't. There is a time and a place for it; work and government are neither.

At face value I would agree with your statement about work and government. My question to you is do you feel the same when they celebrate Ramadan, Hanukkah and other Religious holidays at work?
I would also argue that sexual orientation, preference and racial ideology also don't belong at work or in the government. This also is personal and should be left at home wouldn't you think? Never mind I know the answer.

Yes truly let's go back to the time before things like sex, sexual orientation and race were ever brought up as issues at work or in the government. Also please remind me when exactly that was.

Yeah ok.... you know exactly what that poster was referring to. The crap like throwing a video on FT of the male FA painting his nails getting ready for work. Wanna paint your nails and wear a dress to work - have at it. But plastering an expose on our internal page about it...? Maybe a video of Joe shaving before his trip - awesome!! I have a crazy idea; have grooming standards in a company manual, follow it.

Imagine the caterwauling from the rednecks if a "happy trans visibility day" email went out on lieu of a "happy Easter" email.

What would be wrong with sending both? My problem would be espousing one without acknowledging the other. I don’t care which side of whatever line you sit on, if you are going to do for one, do for all. Isn’t that what equality and equity are SUPPOSED to be?

Radical idea: if it doesn’t apply to you don’t watch the video. Having never seen it (or around 95% of the corporate culture stuff on FT) I can attest that it’s possible. PR creates brand messaging they think will result in the most ticket sales, the money cycles through the machine & we get paid. There is very rarely any substance beyond that, which is why even when the “messages” happen to align with my personal social views, I take them at face value.
