Not bad RB. You're on the right track. UPS is consistently profitable and the pilots are a far smaller portion of their cost structure than at a passenger airline. And they still have a pension because they never went bankrupt.

I am sure the IPA negotiators are great. I wonder if they have the often dreamt of 'professional negotiators', but you can't get blood from a stone.

I generally consider referring to a stranger by their first name as a show of disrespect, not friendship.

Just so you know, every single pilot, and for that matter employee at DL calls the CEO “Ed”, per his request. I have never once hear any VP, pilot, ramper, or FA call him “Mr. Bastian”. Never once.

I don’t think that helps your case.

I don’t care because I think it’s a silly thing for Jerry to get wrapped around the axle about but you’re also making his point for him.

Kirby and UAL senior execs do the same. It's not an accident. It is labor strategy.

And yet DAL beat us to a strike vote, beat us to a contract, and didn’t let their ALPA leadership run amok with concessionary contracts and political aspirations while we sat in apathy. Tumi was a wake up call for us, its kind of insane to be beating our chest about calling our CEO Kirby and wearing ALPA pins on our ties and berating DL pilots when DL has shown real union resolve and results for at least the last decade if not longer and we let apathy nearly run us aground.

  • UAL concurs with a new recommendation from the American Medical Association stating most men over 40 are at risk for testicular cancer. Concerned for operational integrity, United decides to mandate those meeting the qualifications--males over 40--must have their testes removed. UAL argues testicular cancer treatments (chemo, radiation, etc.) take 6+ months and will cause an “operational impact” verses removal, which results in only a few days healing time. Now what?”

there is proof that United pilots have no balls

Check your premises and reread the thread. I said that DALPA did a great job and clearly led the pattern bargaining which was key in getting us our contract. When I pointed out Ed Bastion p!ssing off the mediator a couple of Delta pilots confirmed this, but took offense for some reason in a United thread. I think they and you are imagining things I didn't say.
