No. Like the measles, it will always be here. But once vaccination rates drop below a certain level (high 90s for COVID and Measles) it will come back. I am more concerned with measles than COVID.

yeah, I’m not scared of COVID. I got it when it wasn’t cool anymore. When I got it every single person I came in contact with that day (all of them vaccinated) got it. My point was people saying the vaccine doesn’t work. Well, it would work if we had a vaccination rate over 95%. Well, we don’t we never will. So, people with CoMoreBigTitties (pronounced co-morbidities) are at risk of dying if they get it. Hey, F them if they can’t take a joke.
well given that This vaccine only lessens the symptoms and doesn’t really do anything to prevent transmission, a 95% vaccination rate would just mean more people would be less sick .. not less people getting sick ..

While it’s true the mediator didn’t appreciate Ed’s comments, and as a result asked for mgmt’s best offer, the prior offer was already well in excess of what was on the table elsewhere. It had an effect, of course, primarily that it brought negotiations to a conclusion.

Measles actually does have a vaccine, and the 2-dose regimen is 97% effective per the CDC. For life. Covid does not have anything remotely like that, regardless of what it is commonly called. Don’t conflate the two.

As to the Ed’s comments, I love when people from other airlines, who weren’t there, tell me “how it worked” at my airline. Once again, you are overblowing the impact of Ed’s comments, and minimizing the enormous work which had already been AIP’d by the negotiating committee.

I don’t remember all 4 anymore. Pay rates was one, vacation value was another, I believe.

-pay (2, pay and retro)
-retirement (2, DC and min balance)
-deadheading (2, PSC and deadhead seat selection)
-hours of service (1 individual item)
-scheduling (3 individual items the company wanted that didn’t make it into the TA)
I agree wholeheartedly fangs, Ed’s comments may have irked the mediator, but that isn’t the reason our contract is as good as it is, our NC did a fantastic job.

The real benefit of the vaccine was that it stopped the narrative of "we all need to be subject to indefinite government mandated lockdown to protect the vulnerable, regardless of the personal or societal cost"***
Vulnerable should get the shot if they're concerned.
*** Exceptions for elite political leaders who have important social events, or just want to get out of the house.
