An age change to 67 is very likely sometime in the future. (The camel's nose went under the tent when they changed the age to 65)
However, I think that the window for an age change on this FAA Reauthorization is closing.
Domestic airfares have softened. International airfares/travel has been strong, but I would expect to see a decline in international travel due to current world events. If terrorist activity continues, it will have a chilling effect on air travel.
We could easily wake up in the not too distant future where the pilot shortage has evaporated. Without a pilot shortage, there isn't a pressing need to raise pilot retirement age.

Anyone know where exactly it sits now or when this will start to be discussed again?

Riiiight. I told you 15 months ago, Lindsay Graham's "Let Experienced Pilots Fly Act" wouldn't even make it out of committee in the DEMOCRAT controlled senate. And it hasn't. Just like I said. Age 65. That's it and that's all. Back the Pac and VOTE DEMOCRAT!!

I think it more has to do with taxing a very high income group of the population while simultaneously saving on social security payments both immediate and total years post retirement. Follow the money, it’s going to happen, probably at the worst possible time staffing wise as well (at least for us who aren’t turning 65 anytime soon)
This is more about stupid people introducing stupid legislation for some cheap political points than anything else.

Myopic viewpoint.

But now that it's baked into the re-authorization, it will most likely pass when the re-authorization eventually passes. Neither senate or biden will hold that up over age 67 because almost nobody cares. Tammy cares a little, but she already agreed to age 67 in exchange for keeping the ATP standards. That's where it stands now, with congress doing other things for a while (CR and war).

The stand-alone age 67 bill of course did not make it out of committee, fat chance.

"Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don't know we don't know. And if one looks throughout the history of our country and other free countries, it is the latter category that tends to be the difficult ones."
One thing that is known is that Rep Troy Nehls looks like a shady character, yet it's not known if he is actually shady.

So that people might open their eys and realize it's the republicans that do management's work in Washington. And it's the democrats that do the union's work. Age 67 could not be more transparent. It was introduced in the Senate 15 months ago... republican author and cosponsors. But since the Senate is controlled by the democrats and they side with ALPA, the legislation went nowhere. Your PAC money working as advertised. In the House, the committee vote to add age 67 to their version of the FAA reauthorization was 32 republicans for, 31 democrats against. Get the picture? Politics matter. Who you vote for matters. I get it when pilots say... "well, I vote for my country over my job". But to say republicans and democrats are the same, that it doesn't matter... that's BS. On age 65, republicans are siding with management (the RAA) and democrats with ALPA. Almost 100%. Thank the stars above that the Senate is BLUE. It's bought us over a year of age 65 attrition.
BACK THE PAC!!
