The difference is that United has a much larger percentage of widebodies compared to the other two. Which means many more WBFO seats (higher percentage). The ratio of WBFO to NBCA is the reason why United has unfilled NBCA seats.
It's a problem. Not an easy one to fix. And it's not up to pilots to fix it; only to agree to the proposed solution.

I’ll probably commute to a WB cap upgrade with these new rsv options. Pure long call lines (min 15% ) with 20% rsv coverage by August. $30-32K to fly maybe 2 trips a month. No short call BS!! Throw in 6 wks of vaca and healthy sl balance to burn, sheeeeot. What an awesome contract!!

I'll have another year of seniority by the time the new reserve rules come into effect. Let's say I upgrade then, and get a year of positive space commuting. At that point I might be senior enough to hold a line.
We'll see....

The blame for that falls squarely at the feet of the company. In their zeal to be “green” (read-too cheap to print the form)they eliminated the paper form, thus adding to the hassle factor to fill these out for Captains. Before, the newbie would hand it to us, we fill it out on the last leg in cruise, hand it back to them and they dropped it off with the CPO. That’s why the response rate is so low.

The blame is 50% on the FO who asks me to do it as I’m packing my crap to go home after a 4 day & 50% on me for forgetting everything about the trip by the time I’m halfway up the jetway. These can be done over inflight WiFi. The guys who ask me while we’re still flying get them filled out then & there. The guys who wait until the trip is over have a much lower success rate.
Yes. It’s an app on the iPad. Can use United WiFi. Please complete them. If Probationary Pilot is good, it’s easy. If the Probationary Pilot sucks, PLEASE fill it out. Seeing a lot more new hires that need to be tracked and consideration given for supervised flying or return to FTC.
