It's a problem. Not an easy one to fix. And it's not up to pilots to fix it; only to agree to the proposed solution.
Some of the fix to NB capt pay and work rules will prob result in less capital going to WB FO’s. That would be worse then Tumi around here.

I’ll probably commute to a WB cap upgrade with these new rsv options. Pure long call lines (min 15% ) with 20% rsv coverage by August. $30-32K to fly maybe 2 trips a month. No short call BS!! Throw in 6 wks of vaca and healthy sl balance to burn, sheeeeot. What an awesome contract!!

I'll have another year of seniority by the time the new reserve rules come into effect. Let's say I upgrade then, and get a year of positive space commuting. At that point I might be senior enough to hold a line.

We'll see....

Just to make sure it's clear, if the reserve level is 20%, 15% of that amount will be the long call lines. It's a percentage of a percentage.

The blame is 50% on the FO who asks me to do it as I’m packing my crap to go home after a 4 day & 50% on me for forgetting everything about the trip by the time I’m halfway up the jetway. These can be done over inflight WiFi. The guys who ask me while we’re still flying get them filled out then & there. The guys who wait until the trip is over have a much lower success rate.

Yes. It’s an app on the iPad. Can use United WiFi. Please complete them. If Probationary Pilot is good, it’s easy. If the Probationary Pilot sucks, PLEASE fill it out. Seeing a lot more new hires that need to be tracked and consideration given for supervised flying or return to FTC.

I saw no need to get them seek to get them filled out as a half-winger. Sure Larry wanted them but there was no contractual requirement to have any completed. I only had 2 filled out my entire time and they were unsolicited

UAL can offer 36 CA vacancy slots to next weeks class of 50 new hires if they want now that the contract has been ratified.

that is NOT correct. The next vacancy will have to have unfilled CA vacancies for them to be offered

Has the company offered to remove freezes? No? Then they can't do it. That's one of the steps before CA positions can be offered to new hires.
