This thread popping up made me re look at the pictures… agree with, no color on wings, only metallic, and matted would be better than the super chrome silver. Design wise the pointy ends look a little 70s Star Trek style to me, I like our current design, clean but a little more squared off. The color of the uniforms is fine, but in the crew pictures they all look the same (FAs and pilots) the only thing that differentiates them is the hat and tie, in fact the FA epaulettes are more noticeable than the pilots. Maybe thats the company way of making us wear hats so we stop being mistaken for FAs.

I haven’t personally come across any comm issues flying the Airbus or Boeing. I personally wear a clarity aloft with one earpiece out and have FOs wearing everything from headsets, ear dicks, molded ear pierces, etc. I did like the intercom capabilities on the Airbus but still had plenty of pilots taking off headset above 18K… so this idea that you need to wear a headset and be on intercom due to safety is a bunch of BS.

Oh no, I'm quite sure what he's saying. He's not funny, and he's made multiple posts in this thread indicating he doesn't give a crap about what his FO thinks, that he will do what he wants, "find a new trip", etc.
He, intentionally or not, is exhibiting the EXACT behavior that leads to incidents like this. That is the point that several of us are making. Communication issues like this don't just magically happen. They happen because guys like this would rather make a point or troll the FO rather than be a safe crew member.
I've had the displeasure of flying with a few guys like this, and the sooner these guys are put out to pasture, the better.

The funny thing about the crusty old guys that we make fun of in our youth is that most of us turn into them. Kind of like most of us turn into our parents despite swearing that we wouldn’t.
