Not really. The now absolute minimum will be 350 hours in type plus 100 hrs IOE. I'd call that ballpark 12 months to captain pay.

All this assumes the AIP fails to incentivize people to bid captain.

It’s very much a possibility. Under the AIP you could bid for immediately as a new hire. Once you get 350 hours on type you’d be sent back to TK to do the entire long course again, then 100 hours of IOE. You need the 1000 hours of FAR qualifying time to actually fly as a captain but that should be obvious. The process from DOH to captain line check could in theory be 9-10 months.
