I was a NH there in 2000 on the 75/76. I think I have about 400 hours in type. I was furloughed and never came back . Would that be an option or is the 75/76 still semi senior for capt awards ? Someone asked why one would do subject themselves to years of reserve? I have about 6 years left so that’s why.
Junior 756 CA is SFO; seniority number 11869. Pretty sure that's a pre-Covid hire. Someone else in that seniority range will have to chime in.
If your desire is to be a CA quickly, you're going to have to go guppy or fifi.
There would need to be unfilled 756 CA vacancies for you to get 756 CA as a probie; I don't see that happening any time soon.

Didn't you post a couple of years ago that you'd never return to United? I guess times change.

There have been unfilled 756 ca vacancies but very very few. Like 3 maybe.

Are you sure there have been unfilled 756 CA vacancies? I checked the last 3 vacancy bids and no unfilled 756 CAs. Unless there was some oddball circumstance back further than that.

Almost far enough! 23-07 had 1 in SFO and 23-06 had 6. But the general point remains. There have been minuscule unfilled vacancies on the 756 left seat compared to the 320/737 and are much less likely to occur in the future. Might happen. But less likely.

That 2 year 756 WB Captain seniority is awesome but it will be short lived as we start parking more jets as the A321s start showing up. Breaking the back of the 763 in IAH didn't help either.

To be fair, you can bust your butt all month long as a NBFO and still make substantially less than sitting reserve as a NBCA. I live in base and spend a heck of a lot more time with the family than I did before I took the upgrade. I also have been able to get every single reserve schedule I bid for, meaning I’ve gotten the time off I’ve wanted for planned vacations. I’m only comparing 737 FO to CA. I can’t speak to the wide body FO vs NBCA. Commuting to reserve? Yeah, that’s a whole different animal and would not be for me.

LOL! Figures I didn't look back far enough. Summer training on those bids?
