You need the 1000 hours of FAR qualifying time to actually fly as a captain but that should be obvious. The process from DOH to captain line check could in theory be 9-10 months.
Then 5-9 years of reserve depending on base.

Narrowbody FO's: Make sure to honor United tradition and buy your CA's dinner / drinks if they're a half-winger.

I was a NH there in 2000 on the 75/76. I think I have about 400 hours in type. I was furloughed and never came back . Would that be an option or is the 75/76 still semi senior for capt awards ? Someone asked why one would do subject themselves to years of reserve? I have about 6 years left so that’s why.

I love how you were on Delta’s no fly list and ended up at United. That is awesome LMAO. When you’re off probation you got to give us the story on what happened.

UAL would have to change probation requirement to match other airlines. Probation would have to end upon upgrade.

They can always bid down to a seat where they can hold a line after their freeze ends.

I doubt they considered the situation of a new hire with time in type at united. Lax/sfo 756 (essentially all 757) have had some lower time captains but it’s very hit or miss. I think the likelihood you could be in a 756 upgrade class quicker than a 737 class is low at best.

I still see furlough the occasional furlough returnee coming back--did you give up your seniority number already?
