Safety is compromised if your first priority is for that event to occur for appearances sake. Which is what is happening. Lol

I get where you coming from but that AA that had a runway incursion in JFK he wasn't one of the new guys and I'm sure there is more incidents with more senior guys over the years. I'm saying hold their hands or fly the plane for them I'm the training department can do that, and I'm with you some of the NH's might not worked hard to get to a legacy but that doesn't mean that everyone that has low time is incompetent. We can't just judge them because they didn't have 10,000 hours before they got hired, they might had to CFI and work on the side and that was the only job they can do to build time or they might had to work 2 or 3 jobs to pay for their flight training and we can't just discourage them of applying because they are not qualified, let them have a shot at the training and if they falloff in training then they can go back and build some experiences.

biggest load of crahp ive ever read. Checkride failures dont have the stigma they used to have 10+ years ago. check-ride failures are extremely common now days, and really, no one gives a crap about it anymore. Spirit hired a fresh 1500 cfi with 4 GA failures... jetblue constantly hires people right at this moment, with DUIs or 2+ 121 fails.
Take a look through ALL plane crashes that ever happened. The VAST majority was done by people who never failed a checkride. funny how that works huh?
"total time should be how you judge someone"
again, another big load of crahp. Someone can have 3000 PIC turbine and be a sh1ttyy pilot, and someone can be a 500 hour SIC FO and be a superior pilot. I cant count how many errors and mistakes I caught from crusty old captains. But hey! they must be good only because they have a lot of total time, right?

I’m not even going to get into the other comments you‘ve made today.

Thats a good thing, as it should be. That is the way to go, administrating non-bias checking events.
Thankfully its not an old white jealous b00merr who is racist and hates blacks/women/brown people. OR else they would be failing minorities left and right.
Aviation has no room for racism.

Disregard you’re not even a United pilot. I was totally shocked to discover you’re at Mesa.. lol. Good luck with life buddy. Btw I’m sure all those check ride failures including a 121 bust you’ve been gloating about as “no big deal” have something to do with you just being a “victim of the system”.

reading this thread is discouraging to anyone that wants to fly for UA because the amount of pilot that are so unhappy with the “unsafe” pilot that been hired because they didn’t have to work 20 years flying RJ making close to nothing. I don’t want to be a blunt but not everyone has to crop dust or fly freight in the middle of the night in freezing weather to get to a decent spot. If you see a new pilot that needs mentoring why don’t you just give them advice instead of making them feel bad for not having enough experience
I want to sit next to a pilot who has almost killed themselves a few times or has had someone try to kill them. You need to make bad decisions, learn from them and then move forward. You don’t need to be making first time rookie decisions that could kill you in a plane with 365 people.
the amount I learned from being a CFI, flying single pilot 135, Turbo props and RJs has made me the safe pilot I am today.
that 767 landing in IAH and 757 landing in EWR Im sure were picture perfect until the last 5 seconds. nota lot of time to mentor there…..experience matters.
