Don’t assume that just because a New Hire gets the a WB slot mean they are inexperience for global operations. We have folks who have lots of experience flying overseas and WB aircraft taking the WB fleet as a NH over the AB guppy. There is inexperience across the entire operation and we aren’t the only airline dealing with it as the hiring landscape has changed since Covid.
Only you would consider flying across the pond for 12 hours picking your nose and watching the CA do the landing “experience”. You really do think you’re special with that Atlas “global operation” experience. I mean that’s some tough, skilled flying to overcome for a NH am I right?

GMAFB

In all seriousness though please explain to me how having global operation experience prevents bending metal on landing or deviating from a simple hold short clearance after landing and crossing an active runway? Yeah that’s what I thought.

Don’t knock pilots from companies like Atlas or Kalitta. They see more abnormal stuff in a 16 day trip than most people see in a career. I’m exaggerating of course, but they regularly go to places that most people have never heard of with little to no support while carrying tons of hazmat or military payloads that limit their divert options. They are very well prepared when getting to a legacy that has support everywhere they go and spoon feeds their training. Even NB fleets at a legacy involves lots of international flying. They are better prepared for what we do than some guy who banged around domestically in a rj.

The poster you’re replying to apparently gets off on just being vile to every possible pilot group, background, experience level, whatever that they can.

I’m not knocking anyone for being ex-cargo. You and the other cargo/ex-cargo pilots can settle down. I’m knocking the idea of correlating someone bending metal, having bad CRM, or not following a simple clearance, to having/not having “global operations experience”. Obviously there’s more to WB flying than picking for gold for 12 hours. If want to take my first paragraph personal and read right through the obvious sarcasm that’s on you.

Lol man, get lost…. You clearly missed the point of my post and the post I was replying to talking about lack of experience was the cause of the 777 UAS event…

No one here is claiming that they are special…

I only wish pilots like you expressed those opinions face to face so I could save some time and money buying you dinner.
Exactly. I'm regretting my vote also.

So indeed it was a LCA giving an F/O IOE……F/O candidate was transitioning from the 737.
