To all the “Pie is only so big” peeps
The pie we have in front of us today is leaps and bounds bigger than pie the company offered last year. Funny, but all the “pie is only x” boneheads must have seen the light now. We made them bake a bigger pie. Good work NC/MC/MEC.

We complain about lack of unity but can’t wait to call each other boneheads.

The game you’re playing is zero sum and the best way to win is not to play. Why not read the agreement, vote your conscience and pretend to be in a union.

Wait, where was the unity when our previous reps were saying “this is as good as it’s going to get”? Or, my favorite from my LEC chair, “we’ll get this deal done first then go right back into negotiations and get ‘em next time”.
Can’t make this stuff up.

Unionists forged ahead to remove incompetence, avoid racism, and be very clear about what a successful agreement would look like.
Soon we’ll see the actual language and have to decide if it it meets our requirements. If it does, what does the future look like for ALPA? What does unity look like?
There needs to be deep dive to examine how an MEC went so far off the rails. More importantly, we need to understand how such a disconnect existed between the MEC and membership.
That should have never happened and it’s up to each of us to NEVER let it happen again.
Those pilots who failed us should wear the scarlet letters they deserve, but I hope the more effective lesson is line pilots must stay engaged, not just when we’re negotiating.

The truth is 94% of us said “no, you MUST do better”.
