Beware my UA discount
This has been going on for a couple weeks. The UA discount site redirects to the retail United Res site. We tried a help hub request last month. Followed their suggestions, and finally gave up. The help pages are out of date and nonsense… “fare wheel”?
Gave in and called Employee res tonight. 1:13 hours on phone for them to discover that the prices on the redirect website for employees are hugely higher, like over a hundred dollars, each way, plus bags are not free.

As for using the app, I got a message from help hub, saying that you cannot use the app.

I compared United.com, AA, and DL looking for the best price. They were almost to the penny identical. The United discount fare was about $100 cheaper on each ticket. First fare was around $200 one way, second was $120.

Did you compare those fares with united.com?

I just checked again, it works just fine. I took a screen shot but don’t know how to post it.
Sometimes it’s way more than 20%. I bought a premium economy ticket home from Europe last month, it was less than $500. It was over $1,000 regular price. Other times it’s not much of a discount at all.
