Lot's of SAC area commuters and the Sierra foothills. WB life would make this doable. If you are indeed ok living more than 2.5 hours away and crossing bridges, also consider the far North Bay, like the outskirts of Santa Rosa. Good quality of life. Fresno would be a no for me both because it is less convenient, the flights (CRJ) won't be reliable to commute on, and of course a less desirable area than those mentioned above.

I would love to live far up the North Bay, I haven't looked much into those prices just yet. Sac/Sierra foothills are sounding better and better. I wouldn't mind a 2.5 hour drive, and I'm fortunate to have family living in the East Bay in case I need to be closer for reserve occasionally. I'm not anticipating an extremely busy schedule sitting reserve on the 787, but who knows.

Good points. Fresno would only happen due to GF possibly working there, but it's definitely not my first choice.
