(Contract First) United Next Growth Plans
#111
I would love to hear the mental gymnastics to come up with these numbers. United Next gets the company to 20,000 pilots (+1,000ish) with net airframe growth. That's assuming the company doesn't execute the "fleet flexibility" tenant and retire old NG and CEO narrowbodies, 757s/767s.

That chart was made by someone who doesn’t understand that the management definition of growth (ASM) doesn’t equal more pilots but means bigger aircraft, more seats crammed in, higher aircraft utilization via no QOL increases/concessions in AIPs and scheduling efficiencies/ contract loophole exploitation etc. Or that chart was made by someone who does understand management definition of growth and realizes their propaganda gets sucked up, and Captains can’t help themselves not go out of their way to act like bozos during contract negotiations and boost NPS so managers get a higher bonus.

Every airline has a seniority projection calculator. Delta’s WidgetSeniority projection is publicly available. At AA and UA you need to be an employee to gain access. I’m assuming whoever created the graph gained access to all three. Not that difficult to achieve with a few friends at those carriers.

Gotcha. Yeah, I was poking around on DL's widget--it's pretty neat. Based on the chart you shared, seems like AA is the best place to land for someone in their 40's right now. Do you happen to know of an article/website that combs over the nuanced differences between the three new legacy contracts (since salaries are identical)?
and the first to furlough most likely
because we know it’s coming

The 756 fleet and all the non Chinese Airbuses are super old. As much as I love them all they will be going bye bye very soon regardless if we acquire all the planes we have on order. if the economy tanks like it always does there will eventually be a net loss of airframes during a given year. This Hugh Hefner fantasy world that some of us are living in are in for a rude awakening when the shoe drops eventually.
