Many LCAL pilots had HUNDREDS of UNEMPLOYED pilots placed above them over night. People who were UNEMPLOYED became line holding pilots overnight at the expense of never furloughed LCAL pilots. LUAL UNEMPLOYED pilots had ALL of their longevity counted while the bottom 1/3 of the CAL list did NOT.

LUAL ALPA actually did a FANTASTIC job. Brucia rightly went into hiding after the award because he should be ashamed of himself.

To say that a pilot who was unemployed had any right to be placed above a pilot that was currently employed was and is the height of arrogance.

What about my longevity? I’m a Sept 1997 LUAL hire I’d never been been furloughed, yet I got stuffed under LCAL pilots who had MULTIPLE fewer years on property than I did. Before the merger I was an A-320 Capt. I spent 9 years back in the right seat when it was all said and done. So quit your belly aching your side wanted to staple me to the bottom, I got hammered as it was. You ain’t special, many of us on both sides got B’slapped in the ISL.

So you agree that the furloughs should have never been placed above pilots that were never furloughed? Did you lose your seat after the SLI?

I agree that many sides got the shaft. LUAL did an admirable job with the SLI and it showed in the results (and I’m LCAL).

Regardless, it’s been over ten years. Every so often someone has to bring it up and throw jabs and I just got sick of it. Back to what counts - we are ALL United now and I’ll go to bat for each of you.

What’s this thread about anyway?

what about the UNEMPLOYED LCAL pilots with less than a year on property who were placed ahead of pilots hired nearly a decade before them?

How about realizing that it was an arranged marriage over a decade ago and moving on with our lives? This horse has been beaten to death.

What about them? Unemployed pilots should never go ahead of employed pilots.

Did CAL have pilots on furlough when we merged? Or did the CAL pilots do the right thing and bring on LUAL pilots as new hires since we were hiring (only to be screwed later on)?

Nice attempt of sleight of hand by throwing in date of hire…

Agree, let’s move on; but when people misrepresent the truth, someone needs to speak up otherwise those lies can quickly become “truth”.

Disagree that the marriage was in the making over a decade particularly if you’re trying to make the hollow and debunked argument that LUAL parked airplanes and furloughed pilots “for the merger”.

“over a decade ago” “it took place over the span of a decade”.
