Crazy how different perspectives people have reading the exact same document.
So you're saying reserve rules, reassignment rules, LTD (with 401k DC), STD, sick leave, and profit sharing are small items that can be closed out in a few days?

They did… You’re expectation bias is clouding your judgement. You are seeing what you want to see, not what’s being said. As previously mentioned call your LEC rep.

Edited to add that’s more of a confirmation bias than an expectation bias.

UAL has a 20% pilot labor savings cost relative to its peers (moving as fast as ALPA will let them) and there’s a large percentage of pilots drinking the Koolaid. We have hundreds of new LCPs who will solve the training bottleneck (“thank you for your service”).

And you ask if we’re close? Something tells me you haven’t seen this movie before.

My guess is as the summer progresses, guys like you will wake up to the reality of what UA is pedaling and make a very personal, independent, and measured decision about how to engage with UA.

Voluntary Long Call Reserve lines where short call (SC) and field standby (FSB)
is only through aggressive pick-up (APU)
Is this addressing the LC to SC unlimited conversions? Or just saying company will "add some" truly LC lines in addition to the current LC-SC atrocity? Because aside from this, I see nothing else in that list about it either open or closed.

You missed the section about SC caps. Pretty vague, but I think that’s what they are shooting for.

Just read the post in the previous page. It outlines basically everything.

So the answer is it’s still an open item. Yikes.

There is a large push for mediation and a strike vote. I can’t see a legitimate reason to hold off on that if we are as far apart as ALPA says and the company is not moving…UNLESS we are a lot closer than they are saying.

Why would ALPA continue to say we’re far apart when the truth is we are much closer to a deal? To keep the troops riled up. The UAL pilot group is soft and we need to be angry so we can participate in the picketing and to keep the pressure up. If the pilot group knew we were very close then I feel like participation and resolve would go down.

The MEC meets this week to discuss mediation. I guess we will see if my theory is correct soon.

Anyone feel the same way or disagree?
Company controls the pace of negotiations. They’re waiting to see how AAs AIP goes before they decide how much more they’re going to give in to ALPA. They’ve been “two weeks away” for a very long time.

ALPA should have filed for mediation years ago and then thrown a strike vote. That’s the only way to take things away from company control to quicken the process and maximize the gains.

No, but it’s too lengthy to explain what global/basic is and what’s open on both, what’s agreed to, etc. Global and basic will still be distinct categories, but what global will be is basically closed out. Aspects of basic are still open as are aspects of FSB.

The summary gives a better breakdown, but you also have to have an understanding of what the underlying contract says to understand the changes.
